Thanks to the New Mexico PreK Grant Initiative, we are able to provide PreK classes for all 4 year old children in the Deming community with no fees. While New Mexico as a whole made significant strides in literacy and stabilized science performance, some Deming schools were among those that had the largest gains in the state. It is located 4 miles north of the US-Mexico border in the village of Columbus, NM. . Columbus Elementary is part of Deming Public Schools and serves about 500 students.
